How to configure Outlook to access your email

The following is instructions on how to configure Outlook to access the POP email. This only applicable for those who host their web site and email with Pixelloom.

 

1. In Outlook, under the menu item Tools, select Account Settings...

2. Depending your version of Outlook, click New or Create

3. Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP and click Next >

4. Click the checkbox for Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next >

5. Select Internet E-mail and click Next >

6. On the Add New E-mail Account dialog box, fill in the information as follows:

  • Your name:  -> This is how you want your name to appear.
  • E-mail Address: -> This is your full email address, including the domain name
  • Account Type: -> Leave it as POP3 which is the default
  • Incoming mail server: -> It is different for each web site. It starts with mail. and then append your domain. E.g. For a web site called example.org, the incoming server will be mail.example.org
  • Outcoming mail server (SMTP): -> This is the same as the Incoming mail server.
  • User Name: -> This is your full email address with domain name.
  • Password: -> This is the password for your login. If you don't know what it is, contact Pixelloom support at help@pixelloom.net

7. Check the checkbox for Remember password

8. Check the bottom in the lower right hand corner called More Settings ... to bring up a separate dialog box with at least 4 tabs.

9. On the General tab, you can change the name which got displayed to identify this account.

10. On the Advanced tab, make sure the Server Port Numbers are as follows:

  • Incoming server (POP3): 110
  • Outgoing server (SMTP): 33

11. Click OK and it will dismiss that dialog box and you will be back to the Add New E-mail Account dialog box.

12. You can test your set up by clicking the button called Test Account Settings.

13. If everything gets a check mark and is OK, click Next >

14. Click Finish
